Our Process
We strongly believe in close collaboration with customers and in understanding their needs. We believe that face-to-face and engineer-to-engineer contacts are essential in the development and manufacturing phases.
We understand the importance of material science and product qualification in-house, product testing with our customer and finally field testing. We have state-of-art testing laboratories for product testing and development of new products and ideas.
Fibertronix employs its proprietary manufacturing processes to produce fibers with high levels of optical and geometrical uniformity and batch to batch consistency at cost-competitive pricing. We have a long history of innovative research, product development and fiber production.
Our Background
Fibertronix stems from the research organization Acreo, the largest research institute in electronics, optics and communications technology in Sweden. Fiber optics is one of its key competence areas.
The Acreo activities within fiber optics span the entire range from materials research, preform design and manufacture of fibers to research, through development and prototyping of advanced fiber optical components, to implementation of fiber optic systems solutions in the industry.
In 2001 Acreo opened a new laboratory for optical fibers in Hudiksvall located about 300 km north of Stockholm. Acreo Fiberlab has state of the art resources for research, development and production of specialty optical fibers. The equipment includes MCVD preform lathe, two drawing towers as well as test and measurement equipment.
Our fiber expertise includes for instance doped preforms, micro structured fibers, and fiber drawing with a large range of fiber diameters and coatings.
